For the eleventh year, AANR-SW is sponsoring its Nude Racing Series. This unique series is a sequence of 5 kilometer cross-country events where runners may participate unfettered by clothing. This year's Series boasts races at five clubs across Oklahoma and Texas.
Runners compete in age and gender categories and must finish at least three of these races to be eligible for the series awards. During this series, runners will accumulate points at each race they attend. More points are awarded to those who finish early within an age group than to those who finish later within the same age group. At the end of the series, the points from each runner's three best races are totaled and the AANR-SW will present overall and age group “Series” awards to those with the highest point totals.
Although many runners compete for points and awards, there are scores who choose to run nude just for the sheer fun of it.
Each club participating in the Series organizes and stages its own race. The 2008 AANR-SW Nude Racing Series begins on April 12 with the Sahnoan Bare Buns Run at Star Ranch and concludes on October 4 with the Bare As You Dare at Bluebonnet.
Point Scoring
Runners are awarded points in each race of the Series based on a percentile calculation of position of finish among those competing in that race within the runner's age and gender grouping.
For the purposes of scoring, each runner will be placed in an appropriate age group based upon his or her age on July 1, 2008.
Awards
AANR-SW will ship personalized awards to the series winners. There will be no duplication of awards. In the event of a tie, the award will be presented to the older competitor.
Age Groups
Awards will be presented to those with the highest “series” point totals for their three best races in these age groups: Overall, Masters (40+), Grandmasters (50+), 18 and under, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 and over.
